The Minister for Housing and Planning, on recommendation from the Tasmanian Planning Commission, has made Planning Directive No. 11 – Application of Attenuation Code – King Island to insert an Attenuation Code (reflecting the Attenuation Code in the State Planning Provisions) in the King Island Interim Planning Scheme 2013. It applies to an attenuation area for the Tungsten mine at Grassy, King Island. This planning directive replaces Interim Planning Directive No. 8 – Application of Attenuation Code - King Island and becomes effective 31 July 2024.
Visit the Tasmanian Planning Commission website for details about the assessment and recommendation on Planning Directive No. 11.
Planning directives may be issued by the Minister after considering a recommendation from the Commission. A planning directive only applies to planning schemes that came into effect before the Tasmanian Planning Scheme.
The Tasmanian Planning Scheme only comes into effect as each council’s Local Provisions Schedule is approved, replacing the current interim planning scheme. This planning directive only applies to the King Island Interim Planning Scheme 2013.
