The Australian Government has released a new National Urban Policy (the Policy), replacing the one released in 2011.
This is a significant milestone towards creating more sustainable urban growth in Australia.
The Policy includes a vision for sustainable urban growth endorsed by the Australian, state, and territory governments. It also includes goals, implementation principles, and performance indicators to help achieve that vision.
The Policy will be particularly useful in supporting a more sustainable urban agenda and informing various Australian Government initiatives such as the National Planning Reform Blueprint, State of Australian Cities reporting, and relevant funding programs.
