The draft Land Use Planning and Approvals Amendment (Development Assessment Panels) Bill 2025 is out for consultation from 26 February to 24 April 2025.
In late 2024, a different version of the draft Bill underwent consultation and was tabled in Parliament. This earlier Bill was not passed by the Legislative Council. Having further considered the issues raised from last year’s consultation and the Parliamentary debate, the government is proposing to re-introduce a new draft Bill. This Bill provides an alternate assessment pathway for development applications to be determined by an independent Development Assessment Panel established by the Tasmanian Planning Commission.
