The Minister has a proposed amendment to the Southern Tasmania Regional Land Use Strategy (STRLUS). An update to the STRLUS Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) has been identified to speed up the delivery of land for housing.
As required under section 5A of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (LUPAA), the Minister is seeking comment from relevant State Agencies and Authorities, the Tasmanian Planning Commission, and all Southern region councils on the identified changes to the STRLUS UBG. Given the extent of changes proposed, the Minister is undertaking a full public consultation process.
