The Tasmanian Planning Commission Panel determined to grant a permit for the North West Transmission Upgrades Project – Palmerston to Hampshire Section on the 10 March 2026.
The permit is for the section of the major infrastructure project from Palmerston to Sheffield, Sheffield to Burnie via a spur line to Heybridge, Burnie to East Cam, East Cam to Hampshire, and includes the substation at Hampshire as well as associated ancillary facilities.
